BURLINGTON, MA and NEW YORK, NY – October 1, 2025 – Butterfly Network, Inc. (“Butterfly”, “the Company”) (NYSE: BFLY), a digital health company transforming care through innovative digital technologies, announced today the commercial launch of its third-generation handheld point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) solution, Butterfly iQ3 Vet™. Butterfly's next-gen solution is powered by the Company’s most advanced semiconductor chip with a data transfer rate that is double that of its predecessor. The result is unparalleled image quality for advanced capabilities that are fully customized for veterinary use.
“Butterfly iQ3 Vet is a pivotal moment for veterinarians, further validating the company’s initial hypothesis that semiconductor-based digital ultrasound is not only viable, but the future of all ultrasound regardless of the species or care setting,” said Jenna Mutch, Butterfly Network’s Vice President, Veterinary. “With the introduction of iQ3 Vet, we’re witnessing a paradigm shift in ultrasound for veterinary medicine. iQ3 Vet sets a new standard where digital image quality matches that of traditional handheld devices, and even certain carts. This solution will attract more seasoned POCUS experts to choose Butterfly and support new learners to gain confidence and competency through artificial intelligence and advanced imaging tools.”
Unparalleled image quality.
Butterfly iQ3 Vet brings best-in-class, high-resolution image quality with twice the processing power compared to Butterfly iQ+ Vet and a novel “no focus” rubber lens, enabling providers to intuitively identify anatomy, observe small structures, see deep into large animals, and ultimately, make more confident diagnostic decisions.
"Once you try the iQ3 Vet, you won’t want to go back. The images pop up sharp, it runs smooth, and chute-side exams go twice as fast.” Says Dr. Luis Feitoza, DVM, PAS, PhD. “With the iQ3 Vet, I don’t need separate machines—it covers everything from cats to cattle with clear images, and it pays for itself in versatility."
Advanced Imaging Tools:
Launching on Butterfly iQ3 Vet are new tools and presets, made and optimized specifically for veterinary use. New features include Equine MSK Shallow, Equine MSK Shifted-Plane, Large Animal Presets that now have 35cm depth, Needle: Out-of-Plane will allow you to visualize the needle sooner when performing short axis needle insertions, and more. They join Butterfly’s existing robust feature list of over 17 anatomical presets, six imaging modes (B-Mode, M-Mode, Color Doppler, Power Doppler, Pulsed-Wave Doppler, and Biplane Imaging™) and collection of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced imaging tools (e.g, Auto B-Line Counter, NeedleViz™, and a rich set of Calculation tools).
Jenna Mutch concludes, “With the Butterfly iQ3 Vet experience, we set out to give veterinarians the clear leading solution in point-of-care ultrasound. We built this device to meet the needs of the end user every step of the way, whether they’re an advanced scanner or just starting out, and we achieved this. We delivered a solution that will always be ready for them. Immediate boot up to clear imaging, long run time, fit-in-hand comfort, customizable controls, and rapid charging… all at a price that’s still below incumbents.”
